Liaoning International Auction Co., Ltd was founded on Mar. 1997 in Shenyang Fenghuang Hotel, and after careful preparation, the first session of auction was ready. 128 pieces of works from Fu Baoshi, Guan Shanyue, Li Keran, Qi Baishi, etc gathered at the auction site, and the illustration brochure carrying these 128 pieces of works expressed the determination and confidence of the company on the northeast market. Warm invitations have been sent to the domestic and overseas collectors. On Sept. 26, the first session of auction on calligraphies and paintings were held in Shenyang , and at 1 o ' clock pm and under the spotlights, the auction hall with capacity of 300 people. Mr. Du Chunguang himself chaired this auction. “Stone and Chicken” by Liu Haisu was concluded at 150 thousand yuan, “The Sunshine of Tashkent” by Wang Shenglie at 320 thousand yuan, while the “Figure” co-authored by Fu Baoshi and Guan Shanyue concluded at 450 thousand yuan, which hit the record of the auction and the highest record in the same year in Liaoning Province. The final sales volume of 1.78 million yuan wakens the domestic market and welcomed the first spring of calligraphy and painting market.
After the auction, the leaders from the provincial government highly appraised the company. Yang Renkai, the honorary curator of Liaoning Provincial Museum and the famous connoisseur, donated his works to the company as greetings after he heard that the auction was successfully held.
The sales volume of this auction has lost its value as reference, and especially during the rapid development of northeast market, the company also develops rapidly.
